Blessed Too

Give me the beats for my heart to sing
I sing the song that I love to sing
My dream is a dream till the end of dream
Not till I found no pain shall I stop to dream
Is everything fine
I’ll ride to the dream where I’ll find no pain
~"I’ll Ride", Harman Hussin, November 20, 2005~
If I were to choose one word, I’d say Harman Hussin was inspiring, the kind of person that you’d want to meet when you were at the fork on the road.
I’m a naturally reserved person, not one who feel at ease with people, though my years in PR has enabled me to fake it when the need arise:) However, I felt right at home with this charming 33 year old artist and film-maker. He has that calming effect, like he was convinced that everything will work out well, against all odds.

the whole universe will conspire to help you.’

My good friend Saedah has kindly arranged for us to meet during my trip to the Lion City last weekend. Earlier on, we caught his short film showcased as part of the Displacement Project : Bandung - Singapore 2006 at Orita Sinclair, Pahang Street. He presented LOVE using the interesting scenarios of people’s daily lives in India. It was a touching piece in black and white, though what stood out (to me at least) were the kids’ teeth, hehe…He must have done those glaring shots from an unusual angle because you saw the very white teeth first before everything else:)
As we sat at a table at La Pa Sat, Harman shared his dream of performing Haj.
He would be riding to the holy city on his motorbike a few months ahead and stopping in several cities to film and document the lives of the Muslim communities along the way. I was excited as coincidentally, my parents and I would be doing Haj this year too, with God’s will. He planned to start this amazing expedition to Mecca in September 2006 onwards, with the first stop being KL. Yeah, where I live. Would be awesome to see Malaysia included in such an unconventional, moving effort to promote the beauty of Islam.
We bid farewell an hour later as I had to catch the coach back. Very much inspired, I was still thinking of the best way to help him achieve his dream when I arrived home 6 hours later. Of course, I could tap into my main professional strength which is working with the media. Hmm…we shall see:D

Yeah. Harman has a way of making me feel at peace with myself. And what you have done for him is incredible! You are so sweet…..
Really? I felt so much better after I wrote that. Did 2 days worth of work today, suddenly my battery got re-charged:)
