Under the Sun

After not chatting for a few days, we were online a few times just now. Did we cover 1 or 2 pretty heavy topics today? LOL!
Hmm…first time was 10am (8pm in Houston), second time was 1.30pm (11pm in Houston) until he went to bed 2 hours later. Then at 5.50pm (3.50am in Houston), he came online again just as I was about to leave for the gym. He was going to do his PHD assignment.
Doesn’t Ad ever sleep?;) No wonder he has achieved a lot in his short life.
That’s the thing with us, we can talk about everything under the sun. We can joke, debate, discuss, small-talk and flirt in a single chat. I’m much more open with him than I am with my other guy friends, even my expat friends.
He said his friends, family and local colleagues threw a couple of parties for him when he was vacationing in KL early this month. If I had been back earlier, he said I would be with the bunch too as well as spend some time just the 2 of us. So sweet:)
I told him that I casually mentioned him to my mother while in Mecca - the ‘filtered version’ - I just said ‘a friend of mine’. She knew we spoke on the phone. Hehe… Naturally, she was impressed with his career achivements.
On the other hand, I also shared his liberal family background with her. I mentioned his mother not converting to Islam when marrying his father, his sister in law not converting when marrying his brother and his sister converting to Christian to follow her fiance.
Surprisingly, she didn’t even blink. She didn’t see anything strange with that. The only thing she said was, "Your father said: Years back, Malaysian legal system used to allow Muslim-non Muslim marriages." No, she’s not a lawyer, but my father is:D.
Sometimes I forget that my parents are normally more Westernise in their thinking than I am.
Hmm…Looks like my path is clear. Yes!:)
