A ‘Chance’ Meeting
March 31, 2007 by haziamyperspective
Guess what has just happened?
By some unforseen circumstances and unplanned chain of events, I finally met Al, Ad’ best friend cum mentor, at a pub in Bangsar just now. And no, I still don’t drink:)
We talked for 2 good hours, until past midnight in fact. He was really fun and I was laughing like 3/4 of the time:D. His friend who joined us later couldn’t believe that we had just met.
Ad’s parents were there earlier but Al was ‘wise’ enough to wait for them to leave first before telling me that he was already there (and that they had left).
I think somewhere through the conversation, he sensed that Ad and I have never met. On one side, I knew a lot of things about Ad that most people didn’t, a part of him that he didn’t openly share. I was also more up-to-date on Ad’s daily happenings than even he was.
On the other hand, there were many well-known impressions, clear cut traits that were synonymous with Ad, but yet, I knew nothing of these.
I was glad to discover that the ‘Ad seen
through his eyes’ were very close to the ‘picture of Ad that I had in my mind’. So, I would say that Ad had been pretty genuine with me.
Also, through Al’s jokes and light stories, there were ‘hidden’ messages that he tried to relay to me…especially on Ad’s very close relationship with his mother, his free and risk taking ways and his parents’ social status. These were not new information to me, only he helped made the picture clearer… so much clearer.
I shall share more tomorrow:)
Good night!
