Dreaded Annual Affair

I’m writing this entry to remind myself of our upcoming staffs’ trip during this long weekend & public holiday. I haven’t taken care of the necessary, in fact I haven’t done anything. The trip kept on slipping my mind. And not to be forgotten, we’ll be staying at 3 different hotels in 4 days!
It is compulsary and paid for for all staffs with more than 1 year of service. You can’t get out of it. Right from the very beginning, I totally wasn’t keen on going.
To me, a holiday with colleagues is not a holiday. At least last year, 2 colleagues who were close to me were still around. Now, they are gone.
Last year’s trip was ‘disturbing’ and stressful. It was like a mixture of haven and hell. You slowly started to relax and chill. Suddenly, your blood pressure rose again with the presence and unwelcome reaction of certain group of people. It also revealed the ‘horrible insides’ of people which I’d rather not see.
Well, on the other hand, I’d thank my boss on the unusual venue suggestion this year - Sri Lanka. Yeah, that was unique, I do look forward to the country at least.
And yes, I could use the distraction. I know.
