Thank You God:)

Finally… I just collected the appointment letter for my new job. Which one? The one where I was interviewed by the MD almost 3 months ago. After that, I had to do a Corporate Rebranding PR presentation to the top management. I also had to submit a PR program proposal and do a writing test on 2 press releases.
The headhunter called me on Tuesday saying that he just had a buka puasa with the MD. The man had been away overseas and busy with restructuring, which explained the delay. He had interviewed several more candidates after me and was very keen to hire me:)
I have always worked with international companies, this will be my first local, public listed company experience. I am aware of the potential culture shock here, hehe… i.e. Malay dominated environment, government culture, etc.
The PR Manager role is a new one. So far, they’ve only functioned with executives. And these people have been there for ages and they deal directly with the MD at times, so I’ve got to be careful there.
Coincidentally, I attended a second round interview with a multinational yesterday. They will take a few weeks to decide, and they are able to pay up to RM1k higher than above. They have a big budget and it will be fun working with that.
The brand image and awareness is already high, the role is
more to sustain the good work. However, I know that’s not my cup of tea. I’d rather start from zero or negative. Moreover, the role is more on marketing communications - it may be my specialty but I’d like to get more exposure on corporate communication instead.
Also, initially the PR senior executive was put on trial as a manager but she couldn’t perform. Another 3 staff have applied for the post. So, the new PR manager will automatically have 3 enemies when she joins. LOL!
10 minutes ago, another headhunter called me on a PR Manager job opportunity for a biotechnology company. I told her the truth, it was bad timing.
I did sujud shukur just now. I shall take the weekend to perform Istiqarah to be sure. Nevertheless, definitely,I shall tender on Monday:D.
