Spanish Sunday Breakfast
October 28, 2007 by haziamyperspective
My ex-roommate from school and I had breakfast at La Bodega at 8.45am just now. Her schedule was so pack that we ended up meeting first thing on Sunday morning, hehe… She wanted to give me a belated birthday treat. It was a good idea since breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. We shared an order of mushroom, cheese & tomato omelette, toasts and blueberry pancakes. It was awesome:D.
This year, her mission was to socialise more. So she’s attending every open house and gathering she could. On Thursday, I followed her to a corporate open house. The 4U2C singer was performing. When he was singing Dealove by Once, he decided to kneel down beside me, quite long too. I saw the camera aiming at us. Mann! Also, the combination of his untidy long hair and baju melayu was making me nauseous. I got a headache immediately. I’m not going to enjoy listening to that song for a while. LOL!
She was out late last night, catching a midnight show with a guy whom she
last went out with a year ago. She said she was getting energy-less to deal with guys already. It took her one meeting or just a description from me to categorise them. I can’t imagine how she feel, I’ve only been frequently involved with guys for the last few years, she started doing that way before. Must have been exhausting. Why do they like to play games? So far, only the Kebaya Man was as straightforward as could be. On the 2 occasions that he didn’t reply my sms immediately, it turned out that he didn’t even receive them. Simple.
My ex-roommate finally got to see the proof of my book. She liked Singles’ Honeymoon, said it was a good closure for me:) We discussed the cover of my upcoming solo book. I wanted to do something unique and yet ‘provoking’. She liked my second choice better, it was based on a photo that I took in Makkah. It reflected taking a journey and returning home. That was a bit subtle though, she said perhaps I should save that for later, when I’m more well known. A striking cover is better for a start, when you’re still nobody. LOL!
We stopped by at the new Blooks nearby after that. I got a chilli red top, I could never have enough red tops, hehe… The Sales girl was surprised that I only wear long skirts and long sleeved tops. Nothing to do with being modest, long skirts make me look taller. Short sleeves give an incomplete look which is why I avoid it altogether:)
