Seeking for Love?
November 29, 2007 by haziamyperspective
As I was having a leisurely breakfast of Roti Bawang and half boiled eggs at KL Sentral yesterday morning, I got a sudden urge to call someone. Well, not really sudden, I’ve been having this thought for a while already, just not doing anything about it. You won’t believe who this was, it was the psychiatrist!
I thought of making a ‘saying hello’ call, no particular reason. Well, he ended up giving me a reason and one thing led to another. So, the conclusion is I’m meeting him at the hospital next week. My friend will drive me there, it’s out of the way and I don’t drive. Hehe… He’s occupied after office hour for the next 2 weeks and I want to do this before he changes his mind. I would like to capture his character for one of my new stories. Oh, it would be fun to observe him in his work environment.
To think that he wasn’t even sure who I was until I mentioned the venue that we met. He didn’t get my note on my book launch though, he was in Singapore the last 2 weeks. But he did remember my request to interview him, hehe…
I sent him a copy of my book with a personal note. Not too sure how he would psycho-analyze the writer, but a discovery last night told me that it would be a piece of cake. LOL!
After a journalist interviewed us 3 writers, we chatted with the bookstore manager until quite late. She said she could tell a lot about a person after proofreading his/her stories. She could tell a lot about us too. Her observation of my stories - many revolve around one theme i.e. seeking for love. That includes The 50 Sen Queens - a coming of age story of the 2 opposite genders starting to notice their differences. How accurate. Well, I seek a lot of things in life actually, just that that’s the only thing I haven’t found yet:)
I received an sms from the pschiatrist at 5.50am just now. The tone was a bit ‘off’ again. Hmm… I’m beginning to think that he may have split personality. Don’t his patients ever get confused? LOL!
