Steamy

I haven’t updated my blog for 3 days. It’s not that I didn’t have the time, only that my internet at home had been problematic every night - yeah, the time when I was in the mood to do so.
Several things happened over the last few days. I was in Beth Yahp’s second advanced workshop when I received an sms from my mother. My uncle had just called for a steamboat family dinner in Subang on Saturday. Despite the short notice, the whole clan turned up, 7 out of 8 of my mother’s siblings & families. There were 3 tables i.e. men, women and young women. I ended up at the last table, hehe… The waiter kept on taking uncooked food from our table and bringing it to the men’s table without asking us first. I finally put a stop to it. Hey, we were slow eaters, not small eaters. LOL!
One of my aunties said she forgot about my book launch, she needed a reminder. My 14 year old cousin (her daughter) wanted a copy of my book. I was a bit surprised at first, only to realise that when I was her age, I was already reading fiction beyond that, hehe… An older auntie complained that my 27 year old cousin (her only daughter) was taking forever to read my book before passing it to her. She said she herself could finish it in one sitting. LOL! Another cousin, 24 year old, was so interested in the mooncake in ‘Chestnut Chocolate Mooncake’, too bad mid-autumn festival had ended.
My youngest uncle is in UK with his family. He sent me an email saying that he had received my book on Friday and read it in bed with my auntie while my young cousins watched TV. So, the delivery took only 4 days (instead of 6 to 9 days as I was told:)
On top of that, my father had angioplasty at IJN on Wednesday. Alhamdullilah, it went well. Actually, the cardiologist wanted to do it immediately after the angiogram / check-up 2 weeks ago. They have tonnes of doctors there and the daily volume is high. But my father asked for another appointment, it was cold and he was hungry. He wasn’t tired, breathless, in pain or anything, so they were quite baffled with the finding. Since the procedure was done in the afternoon, he had to stay at the hospital overnight to rest.
