The Sequel

I’ve been meaning to write the 2nd of my boarding school series story for quite sometime, but hadn’t gotten around to it. Finally, last Sunday, I started it. Guess I was empowered by the exceptionally positive review/feedback that I got for that particular story. Even a ridiculously silly critic who blasted our book like hell found the characters in The 50 Sen Queens… charming.
Return of the 50 Sen Queens
I woke up with a start. The sun was shining brightly. The stony silence was disturbing. I turned around and caught sight of my roommate on the other side of the room, snoring softly. I jumped off my bed and tiptoed out of our doorless cubicle. Thick wood partitions served as walls separating us two persons per room. My eyes squinted as I stared ahead. Thickly written with fresh toothpaste, the font glared at me.
‘WE ARE HERE!’
To my horror, the other wood partitions along the long narrow corridor bore the same writing. On the bare cement floor, four girls in t-shirts and worn out batik sarung were lying on their sides in a row. A toothbrush was tugged into each of their left ears. Their arms were hugging large whole brown coconuts.
I felt like being hit by water from the artic. My scream pierced through the still air.
