A Futuristic Touch

I just got bad news, I’m going to miss our writers’ story-sharing session again, well for two different groups, to be precise. I will be outstation for work. Man, like I said, right job at the wrong time. It calls for priority which I’m really reluctant to give at this point of time:(
Anyway, all those science fiction and fanstasy reading has inspired me. And I threw my favourite fauna into the story. Check out below:)
Erasing the Birds of Paradise - 1st Cut
Shanti stood quietly near the glass door as Andre gave her his usual light kiss on the lips. It felt cold, remote, just like it did on most mornings during the 12 years that they had been together. It was simply one of their many routines. As soon as he stepped outside, the glass door shut. Within minutes, Kim, the electronic domestic helper buzzed into the dining room and cleared the dishes from breakfast. She was from the latest slim and short model, one that would not get in the way.
Shanti’s eyes were glued to the image on the 3 by 6 feet plasma screen on the white walls. The driver’s door slid up for her husband to get in. She saw the back of his dark blond head. The door shut and he drove away. Then, a beep came on and the image was replaced by one of a young man in blue jeans and casual jacket holding a bouquet of flowers. She pressed a button and the glass door opened.
There he was all chirpy as usual, “Good Morning, Mrs Pascal!” He handed her their fortnightly order of fresh Birds of Paradise. “Thank you, Shaun,” she smiled at him. The boy stood there, grinning widely at her. Why, she could have sworn that he had a crush on her.
Realising that she was standing there in her peach night gown, the transparent silk one that she wore with nothing underneath, she blushed.
