Talk about a Valentine’s Day unlike any other. LOL! This morning, I was so wiped out that I felt like I couldn’t get up.
I got back from a day trip to JB at 10.30pm last night. My 2 colleagues and I left KL at 8.40am for a meeting and recee for our event in the state. Luckily, we got the company’s car and driver, he dropped me right at my condo.
So near and yet… so far… we saw the Lion City. It looked so tempting, we may even cross over when we return for the event:)
Today at work was as hectic as ever, if not more since I lost one day yesterday. When I met my MD 1st thing in the morning, he asked why did we rush back? Why didn’t we stay in JB overnight? Why? Let’s just say that the 3 of us were burried head-deep in work. My reliable ex-staff who quitted asked about her counter-offer again, which was no longer valid since she isn’t a staff anymore. She came to talk to my boss just now. Frankly, despite having an almost zero manpower and her being dependable, I’d rather start afresh, with a brand new team.
Latest development… on Wednesday, I got a new ally, a very important and senior one - yeah, Mr Defensive. I think he sided with me for 2 reasons: I’m new & from a non-GLC, he’s quite new too and also, from outside. At the end of the day, he is hardworking and he connects with similar minded people. 2nd reason, he saw his ‘enemy’ getting closer to me and dropping by my office everyday. He tried to shade some ‘charcoal’ over that guy. I wish he had done this earlier. He’s the one many people have problem dealing with. Once I got him, it gave me a huge advantage. I’m really relieved actually, solved a lot of problems.
Otherwise, it would be like someone said. When the heads don’t talk to each other, people at the bottom would be laughing at both of them.
He had a rough patch with my boss, said that my boss doesn’t guide his staff. A big event gave me a chance to work closely with his boss and team. Now I think I know what he meant.
BTW, I’m interviewing someone on Monday. I really hope it gets through.
p/s: I’ve just realised that this is only my 12th entry in a month. Never been that far apart before. I must be more swamped than I thought, LOL!
